Motivational Interviewing is an evidence based method of working with people to facilitate positive change. It is effective across many domains including addictions, eating and weight issues, parenting, physical and mental health, education, social work, animal welfare, prison services, planet-friendly behaviours, organisational leadership and sport coaching. It is a very useful tool for counsellors and can be integrated into most counselling approaches.
Training will include:
- A brief overview of where MI came from
- What is it and who is it for? An explaination of the fundamentals of the approach and who it can help
- What do you want to change? This session invites you to experience first-hand the benefits of MI
- Now you know what it is, how can you utilise MI with your clients? Five basic tools you can start using right away!
