The Rewind Technique is an exposure technique that allows clients to process intrusive thoughts and images without having to verbalise any information about the trauma to the therapist.
Dr Muss, the creator of the Rewind Technique for Post-Traumatic Stress, has used it to effectively treat individuals and groups surviving road traffic accidents, sexual abuse, rape, assaults, natural disasters, genocide and other traumatic events.
The aim of the day is to provide the information and knowledge to enable participants to feel comfortable using the Technique by the end of the day. The morning session is focussed on delivering information about the Technique and its use in different settings, ending with a practical demonstration. The afternoon is given over to all attendees being given an opportunity to practice the Technique.
The day will be held at a venue in central Southampton or via Zoom and delivered by Sue Sutton, Accredited Rewind Trainer from the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT). Sue is a qualified therapist who has been using the Rewind Technique successfully with a variety of clients since 2012 and became an Accredited Trainer in 2016.
The training is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) for 6 hours CPD. At the end of the training participants will receive a handbook, a certificate and ongoing email support from David Muss and Sue Sutton. Those who wish to and submit two case histories can be included on the register of practitioners on the IARTT website
